Colombia Narino Buesaco Ojo de Agua GrainPro is sourced from a family owned farm located in the community of Medina Espejo in the municipality of Buesaco within the department of Nariño, Colombia. Teófilo Juanito López owns and manages the 11-acre farm, which is called Ojo de Agua because of the spring located on the farm. Teófilo inherited part of the land from his father, who taught him to farm, and later purchased adjacent land. Teófilo has been farming for more than ten years and uses his own micro-mill to process harvested cherries, which allows for meticulous care in depulping, fermenting, and drying the coffee. Teófilo collaborates with an exporting company called Inconexus to gain access to technical support for best agricultural practices. The partnership has helped to improve quality, increase earnings from coffee sales, and strengthen the family’s livelihood.
